No historical records or testimonies about the monument are known. In 2013, field studies were conducted at the monument site by the “State Service for the Protection of the Historical Environment” State Non-Commercial Organization (SNCO) under the Department of Tourism and Protection of the Historical Environment of the Government of the Republic of Artsakh, and a registration record of the khachkar was compiled.
