The khachkar was carved in the 12th–13th centuries as a donation khachkar for a church. In the 18th–19th centuries, shepherds who settled here destroyed the cemetery during the Soviet years. In 1993, after the liberation of Karvachar, residents of the village of Nor Brajur discovered the khachkar together with four other khachkars and re-erected them, as a result of which a new shrine was formed. In 2020, the Karvachar district was again seized by Azerbaijan. There is no information about the current condition of the monument.
